Yes, this morning I received an email from Mrs. Pratibha Rao, the MLA candidate who is contesting from the Jubilee Hills (Hyd) constituency. I was totally shocked and ecstatic at the same time. I think this has happened for the first time in the history of Indian politics that a candidate is seeking support via email. Mrs. Pratibha Rao is a highly accomplished contestant and is one of the founding members of the Lok Satta Party. My complete support to this outstanding candidate.

Friends – The Election Commission has announced the schedule for elections across the country. We in Hyderabad will go to the polls on April 16th. This is the chance we have been waiting for. As you may already know, I am standing for election as the MLA from Jubilee Hills constituency. I am asking for your support and your help in the next six weeks. Let’s not let another five years go by feeling like we could have done better. Let’s do our best, now. If you live in this constituency, I ask for your vote. Wherever you live, I hope for your support in the weeks to come – whether you can tell your friends and family and colleagues about my candidacy, go door-to-door, or contribute to the campaign. I wouldn’t ask for your support if I wasn’t sure that it will make a difference. I wouldn’t be running in this election if I wasn’t so certain that the momentum is with us, that people all around us are ready for a break with the past, and that the time is ripe to take charge of our future.
